Generous community donations have supported Ambulance Victoria to provide best care to Victorians – funding innovative equipment, additional resources and expanding community health programs.

A 45-year career came to a close last month when Stephen ‘Birdy’ Bird put on his uniform to complete his last shift with Ambulance Victoria.

A quiet Sunday night at home turned critical when father-of-three James Bennett suddenly suffered a stroke – highlighting the urgency of recognising the signs. As James slid off his chair and the right side of his face drooped, his wife, Alisa, and daughter, Ellie recognised the stroke symptoms and immediately called Triple Zero (000).

Daylesford have been named Ambulance Victoria's Grampians Team of the Year, with Daylesford local and Clunes ACO Glenn Webster earning the region's Outstanding First Responder Award.

The Rainbow Ambulance Community Officer (ACO) branch has received a new vacuum mattress purchased from the fundraising efforts of the late Jim and Enid Sleep, who both contributed more than 45 years of service to the Rainbow Ambulance Auxiliary.

Residents in Shepparton and surrounding areas now have greater access to Ambulance Victoria’s highly skilled Mobile Intensive Care Ambulance (MICA) paramedics, after the branch moved to dual crewing.
